The undulating flower-like form for this piece was a real challenge to carve. I had attempted it many times in other pieces with varying success. This one turned out to be a stunning form that looks like it was molded in clay. The sapele wood that I chose for this piece has a very straight and subtle grain pattern which is perfect for this complex flowing form.
